SA President, Zuma, arrives Imo for two-day visit Published October 14, 2017

The President of South Africa, Mr. Jacob Zuma, on Friday, arrived Owerri, Imo State capital, for a two-day visit.

He arrived at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport at exactly 7.10pm and was received by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.

Obasanjo had arrived in the state one hour earlier before Zuma’s arrival.

The trio proceeded to the palace of the Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri.

Welcoming the South African President, Ohiri said the Imo people were happy for his visit.

In his speech, Zuma said he was in the state to form a partnership between his foundation and the Rochas Foundation College of Africa in a bid to cater for the underprivileged children in Africa.

He said, “While in Imo, the Zuma Foundation would sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rochas Foundation and I would also meet with Imo businessmen and businesswomen.

“I would equally visit the Rochas Foundation College of Africa and interact with the students, who are from African countries.”
